Movie Recommendation Monday (4) The St. Patrick's Day Edition
Today is St. Patrick's Day!! Naturally that means it is time for another Movie Recommendation Monday! This week all my recommendations will be based on movies with either an Irish theme or taking place on St. Patrick's day itself. The movies that I've chosen range from the silly to the serious but all are sure to please this St. Patrick's Day. Gangs of New York is a 2002 Historical Drama that features some of Hollywood's biggest names such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz. Gangs of New York tells the tale of the violent rise of gangland power in New York City during a time of massive political corruption. The film also sets the city’s evolution into a cultural melting pot while also highlighting the growing resentment of second generation citizens of British and Dutch heritage as waves of Irish immigrants poured into the New York neighborhood of Five Points.
