For this weeks Book to Movie Monday I have decided to cover The Walking Dead: Days Gone By. Now I know, I know it's a TV show not a movie but I've wanted to do a comparison for awhile now and rather than make a whole new meme I'm shelving it here. First Let's Discuss The Book. The comics were first released in 2003 by Image comics. The Walking Dead: Days Gone By Vol. 1 was released in May 2004 and contains the first 6 issues in the series. Tomorrow, yes tomorrow The Walking Dead returns to AMC *woohoo!!!* and so starting today at 10am ET AMC will be running a marathon to get all the fans or those just checking out the series caught up. BTT Asks: If your house was burning down and you could save just one book from your collection, What would it be? Oh wow this is a toughie. My first instinct would be to grab my Lord Of The Rings books because they are bound in a box together and easy to carry but....then I'd be torn having to leave the much bulkier Harry Potter books behind. I think in the end I would go for The Harry Potter books because they are first editions and also I have more sentimental attachment to them since the last 4 in the series I went to midnight releases to get and each book has a little something from that night tucked inside. Now for my questions, If your choice was between saving the Harry Potter Series or Lord Of the Rings, Which would you choose? Why? For this weeks Book to Movie Monday I have decided to cover the Book To Movie conversion of The Exorcist . First Let's Discuss The Book. Below Is The Cover: Now for a little back story in case some of you aren't familiar with the Novel. The Exorcist is a novel written by William Peter Blatty. The book was published by Harper & Row in 1971 and inspired by a demonic possession and exorcism case that the Author heard about while studying at University. For the 40th Anniversary edition the Author added a new character and has been quoted as saying this is the edition he would like to be remembered for. Let's look at some of the characters now shall we. Main Protagonists Father Damian Karras- A Jesuit psychiatrist who has a crisis of Faith after meeting the possessed Regan. Regan MacNeil- Regan is a 12 year old little girl who becomes possessed by a demon. She has grown up in an Atheist household but questions her mothers beliefs or lack thereof. Her parent
