Review:

I love these fricken films, I really do. I have been a Resident Evil fan since the series debuted on playstation back in 1996. I gobble up everything to do with this franchise so when it was announced that a new Resident Evil film would be releasing I was overjoyed. Resident Evil: Afterlife left off with the survivors realizing they were under imminent attack. I wondered how that would end and was extremely happy when Resident Evil: Retr…

On Roanoke Island, the legend of the 114 people who mysteriously vanished from the Lost Colony hundreds of years ago is just an outdoor drama for the tourists, a story people tell. But when the island faces the sudden disappearance of 114 people now, an unlikely pair of 17-year-olds may be the only hope of bringing them back.

Miranda, a misfit girl from the island’s most infamous family, and Phillips, an exiled teen criminal who hears the voices of the dead, must dodge everyone from federal agents to long-dead alchemists as they work to uncover the secrets of the new Lost Colony. The one thing they can’t dodge is each other.

First off lets get the technicalities out of the way. I was provided a copy of this book to review through Netgalley. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for them.

Disease-K has decimated the world leaving its victims shambling homicidal maniacs. Nestled along the warm Gulf waters sits the last outpost of civilization...Gulf Shores. With looters and thieves preying on the shocked survivors, it’s up to the retirees and bank tellers, phone repairmen and charterboat captains to put the town back together.

First off lets get the technicalities out of the way. I was provided a copy of this book to review by the Author. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for them.

Review:

When I started this book I was a bit worried it reminded me to closely of another that I reviewed several months ago. It did, but that's OK. Last Stand On Zombie Island quickly held it's own and while I did find faults in the end it didn't matter. Christopher Eger provided solid plot and characters and for that I can…

17-year-old Becca has spent her whole life protecting her brother – from their father leaving and from the people who say the voices in his head are unnatural. When two strangers appear with apparent answers to Ryland’s “problem” and details about a school in Ireland where Ryland will not only fit in, but prosper, Becca is up in arms.

She reluctantly agrees to join Ryland on his journey and what they find at St. Brigid’s is a world beyond their imagination. Little by little they piece together information about their family’s heritage and the legend of the Holder race that decrees Ryland is the one they’ve been waiting for—but they are all, especially Becca, in for a surprise that will change what they thought they knew about themselves and their kind.

Strange Chemistry just released the cover for this one. I can't say the cover wows me but it does have an interesting premise so it's one to keep an eye out for.

Weekly Wrap Up (20)

Welcome back to My Weekly Wrap Up!!! Each Week I will share My Weekly Wrap Up of Books (reviews, bought, won etc..). So let's get to it shall we!

Gosh it's been so long since I've done one of these. Those of you who follow me on Twitter might recall my rants about missing books in the mail. To make a long story short the woman behind the counter found a huge box in the warehouse (those big mail bins) filled to the brim with lost mail, coupons and books dating back to June I kid you not. I desperately need a new PO close to me so I can monitor more closely and ensure this doesn't happen again. The no paperbacks for review still stands til I can afford to.

Anywho....On to the Books!!

Zurvival Saturday (26)

Image
For this weeks Zurvival Saturday I wanted to share some of my favorite Fairy Tales/Children's Stories with a Zombie spin.

1.) Alice In Deadland by Mainak Dhar
Review Here
In this book Alice is already a trained fighter living in the Deadlands. One day she spots a biter(aka zombie)escaping down a rabbit hole and that's where the fun begins. The clever blending of Alice In Wonderland into this undead landscape really sets this book apart.

2.) Hansel and Gretel Are Dead by Kevin Richey

This story follows Hansel and Gretel by The Brothers Grimm fairly closely but deviates by having the infection of a zombie virus happen at the beginning of the book. I really love how the infection was weaved into the story and I kid you not I shouted OMG out loud several times when I read the ending.

3.)Cinderella and Zombies by Emily Casey

This Novella varies quite a bit from the original story but still has a super fun zombie twist. The prince in this story has to Audition to win …

Summer is the best part of the year in Winston, California, and the Fourth of July is the highlight of the season. Blog Update: Don't Mind Me

For the next two days I will be updating the design for the blog. Since I really have no idea how I want it to look it will probably change often until I'm happy. Regularly scheduled post should resume Friday but if for some reason I'm not done tweaking then I will push that til Sunday and just start on a new week. Thanks for your patience.
