Ednah Walters Guest Post and Tour stop

This was supposed to be up yesterday and I apologize to everyone for missing my stop. I had it in my calendar as being next week. Why Does Paranormal Romance Have Such Appeal to YA? Paranormal romance appeals to all women, LOL, not just young adult. Why? We read the books because of the heroes. We love the heroes. Reading is not just a distraction or an escape from the realities of our lives. We live vicariously through the heroines. Okay, back to why paranormal appeal to YA readers. First, the guys are hot. I can’t explain it. Maybe it is the eyes with unusual colors or the fact that they are physically more developed. Whatever the reason, they are super hawt!!! Second, they are rebels. They are willing to break rules and laws to be with the heroine. Who doesn’t like forbidden love or boy who could kill you but his love for you stops him? Forbidden love in contemporary romance is usually across racial and religious lines and no one really wants to read that in a book

I actually have quite a few but one of my absolute favorites comes from the book Hollowland by Amanda Hocking and it is: "This is the way the world ends - not with a bang or a whimper, but with zombies breaking down the back door." I just love my zombies and I just think the quote is great. Do you have a favorite book quote? Or do you tend to not remember them? Sally Asks: Have you ever bought a book, started reading it and then realised you have already read it? If so, how far did you get? (Can you tell this happened to me for the first time ever this week!?!) The only book I can recall doing it with is The Historian by Elisabeth Kostova. I had borrowed the book from my mom and read it, loved it and bought it. A few years later I was in Borders saw the book, instantly thought it was something Id like so bought it. After I got home I cracked it open got one chapter in and realized it sounded familiar. After a brief check of my books I realized I already owned a copy. Definitely a DOH moment. Have you ever done this before? If so what Book? Leave me an answer in the comments below, I love reading your responses.

For this week's Waiting On Wednesday I chose *drumroll* Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger Expected Publication: February 5,2013 It's one thing to learn to curtsy properly. This Week Mervih asks: Favorite secondary characters? I have a few favorite secondary characters so bear with me. One of my absolute favorites is Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series. She is strong, brave and some of the best lines in the whole entire series. "Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have." A couple of my favorite secondary characters come from The Lord Of The Rings. I love, love Samwise Gamgee, Merry and Pippin and of course TreeBeard!! “I can't carry the ring, but I can carry you” Pippin: "Anyways, you need people of intelligence on this sort of... mission... quest... thing." Merry: "Well, that rules you out, Pip." "That doesn't make sense to me. But, then again, you are very small." Finally one of my last favorite secondary characters has no lines at all. She is actually a lioness in Amanda Hocking's Hollowland series name

R.I.P. Ray Bradbury

Image
Ray Douglas Bradbury (August 22, 1920 — June 6, 2012) The Literary world has lost a great writer today. Ray Bradbury is best known for writing the controversial novel Fahrenheit 451 but he will be remembered for so much more than that. Ray Bradbury was truly one of the greatest writers in the past century and he will be missed.

Waiting On Wednesday (17)

Image
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine . For this week's Waiting On Wednesday I chose *drumroll* Adaptation by Malinda Lo. Expected Publication: September 18,2012 Reese and David don’t remember what happened to them after a bird flew into their headlights on the Extraterrestrial Highway--not the resulting car accident and certainly not a bit of the 21 days of care at the military hospital in Nevada. It’s a good thing, the doctors and colonels tell them, that they crashed on a military base, but they won’t tell Reese and David what the extent of their injuries were, or how they were healed. They do tell them they’re not going home, though, until they sign a confidentiality agreement. When they get home, Reese can’t help but find everything a little weird. Worldwide bird strikes resulting in plane crashes have grounded air travel, David won’t talk to her, and she could swear she’s seen her military doctors around the neighborhood. It’s only w

Image
For This Week's Zurvival Saturday I decided to review the movie Resident Evil. Title: Resident Evil Director: Paul W.S. Anderson Release Date: March 15,2012 Run Time: 100 Minutes From IMDb : A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident. Review: I really could geek out for hours breaking down all the little bits and pieces of why I find Resident Evil so awesome. Today though I will spare you and instead I will break it down all nice and tidy and list The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Resident Evil. The Good The Umbrella Corporation- Seriously one of the best Evil Corporations ever created. I love how completely plausible a big Pharma like this is as well. I mean who really knows what goes on beyond those doors. Truly scary. The Red Queen- I love this spunky holographic security program. The Red Queen is designed in such a way that &quo
