Booking Through Thursday (11)

This Week Mervih asks:
Favorite secondary characters?

I have a few favorite secondary characters so bear with me. One of my absolute favorites is Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series. She is strong, brave and some of the best lines in the whole entire series.

"Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have."

A couple of my favorite secondary characters come from The Lord Of The Rings. I love, love Samwise Gamgee, Merry and Pippin and of course TreeBeard!!

“I can't carry the ring, but I can carry you”

Pippin: "Anyways, you need people of intelligence on this sort of... mission... quest... thing."
Merry: "Well, that rules you out, Pip."

"That doesn't make sense to me. But, then again, you are very small."

Finally one of my last favorite secondary characters has no lines at all. She is actually a lioness in Amanda Hocking's Hollowland series named Ripley. I just love her character and presence in the books. I would probably cry if she was ever killed off.

Who are some of your favorite secondary characters? Have you read any of the books mentioned above? Did you enjoy those secondary characters, or do you have different choices? Let me know in the comments below, I love reading your responses.

  1. I agree with all of your choices.

  2. I so agree, especially with Hermione. She is my favorite HP character.

  3. The Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings both have lots of great secondary characters!
    Here's my BTT post

    1. Yes, they really do. I could probably list a dozen more from both those series but I think people wouldn't want to read all my gushing lol.

  4. Nice list - I had Merry and Pippin on mine, too. My BTT:

  5. Sam, Merry, Pippin, and Treebeard were all great.
