The Fairy Tale Giveaway Hop is such a great thing, I love to see what all the different bloggers have chosen for their prizes! I have only read Sisters Red from your selection, and am very interested in Cinder and Strands of Bronze and Gold, for example
ReplyDeleteOh, and the quote! Since my favorite character is Jafar from Disney's version of Aladdin, I'll quote him: "Bring me the lamp. The rest of the treasure is yours but the lamp is mine."
ReplyDeleteI totally read that in his voice.
DeleteChristina K. in the rafflecopter
ReplyDelete"It's not like wires are contagious." Cinder from Cinder by Marissa Meyer:)
Thank you:)
One of my favorites is Pinocchio: I'm not a puppet, I'm a real boy! As his nose grows ....
ReplyDelete"But it's my favorite! Far-off places, daring swordfights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!" <-- someone put this on Pinterest with pictures from Harry Potter...it was awesome. (Quote is Belle from Disney's Beauty & the Beast)
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to seek out that pin :)
DeleteBelle said to the Beast "Please Don't leave me. I love you" I love that quote from Beauty and the Beast, Because after she says the words it changes the Beast back to to his human self along with everything returning to it's former self. and They Lived Happily Ever After! :) I watched the Disney's version with my Children and it's funny but I fell in love with it! and now I watch it with my 4yr.old grandaughter. It's one of her favorites too! :) Good luck to all! and Happy Reading :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win! From Cinderella in the Disney movie - "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true." -Cinderella

DeleteBest part of the whole movie.... it cracks me up every time I watch it (:

ReplyDeleteHard to think of a direct quote. I think I love that fact that in Beauty and the Beast that the beast becomes loveable because Belle loves him first. Not a quote just a though
ReplyDelete"And when I make a promise I never ever break it" Rapunzel from Tangled :)
ReplyDeleteAnd my mind has gone blank of all quotes. I'll say the scene in The Princess and the Frog when Navine practices proposing to Evangeline and Ray gets all upset.

DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI love from The Little Mermaid - Ariel: [regarding King Triton, as Sebastian watches, unobserved] "If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I just don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad."
[She begins singing "Part of Your World."]
Ariel: "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? / Wouldn't ya think my collection's complete / Wouldn't you think I'm the girl / Girl who has everything / Look at this trove, treasures untold / How many wonders can one cavern hold? / Looking around you'd think / Sure, she's got everything / I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty / I have whoozits and whatzis galore / You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty / But who cares? No big deal / I want more."
One of my favorite movies!

ReplyDeleteThe walrus said
To talk of many things:
Of shoes- and ships-
And sealing wax-
Of cabbages and kings-
And why the sae is boiling hot-
And whether pigs have wings.”
I love "Alice in Wonderland" and often times I'm not sure that it really counts as a fairy tale or not, but that is still my favorite quote. Traditional fairy tale perhaps I'd go with, "Now, shall you deal with ME, O Prince, and all the powers of HELL! (insert really freaking scary evil cackle laugh here)!", Maleficent: Sleeping Beauty. That scared the heck out of me as a kid and the use of that word in a kids movie (Hey, it was a long time ago and you just didn't say such a thing!!)! I was terrified of Maleficent and I think I might still be a bit!
Thank you for the giveaway chance.

Snow White: "Someday my prince will come." I don't know if she ever really said it, but it was beautifully sung in the Disney film.
ReplyDeleteThe princess in the Princess and the Pea: " Oh!" said the Princess. "No. I scarcely slept at all. Heaven knows what's in that bed. I lay on something so hard that I'm black and blue all over. It was simply terrible."
ReplyDeleteSeriously, any fairy tale that starts with "Once Upon a Time..." – I've been hearing that throughout my childhood and even now when I read something with those words, I get transported back :) Thanks for the amazing giveaway!!

A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. ReplyDeleteI love fairy tales. I actually wrote a paper for my Literary Non-Fiction class about the resurgence of fairy tales in popular culture. This was last year when the two movies based on "Snow White" came out along with the tv show "Once Upon a Time…" and then "Cinder" came out. It was quite an explosion of fairy tales in mediums. I concluded that because of the rough economic times, people were grasping for something to escape to. In fairy tales, the impossible happens. The disenfranchised become the heroes and heroines. They rise to power and usually become a King or Queen. We are still clinging to the American dream and through the use of fairy tales we get to live that dream. As far as my favorite fairy tale goes, I love "Beauty and the Beast." I love it so much that I have thought seriously about naming my first daughter Belle. In books, I love retellings of fairy tales like "Cinder" and "Ella Enchanted." In TV, the show "Beauty and the Beast" on the CW is one of my favorites and in movies, I loved "Mirror, Mirror," "Beastly" and "The Wizard of Oz." Also, a big fan of the musical "Wicked."
