Dear Diary: Confessions From A Blogger (15) Bad Blogging Habits

We all know what goes on behind the scenes at our own blogs but rarely do we lift the curtain and share those experiences with others. Dear Diary: Confessions From A Blogger stems from the curiosity. This week I want to share some of my bad blogging habits.

Here is my confession:

Bad blogging habits aren't something I'm proud of. I know that I should strive to be the best little blogger I can be but I'm not perfect and I realize that while I'd like to be it's simply never going to happen. I'm human, sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes I'm just busy and then other times I simply forget. So today, I want to share three of what I feel are my worst blogging habits. These are the areas I know I need improvement in and have been really trying to overcome slacking on them.

1. Commenting on other blogs: This I feel is probably my worst blogging habit. While I do have a list of blogs I try to visit daily I know I could do so much better. Some of the ways I've been trying to overcome this *ahem* laziness is by visiting chunks throughout the day whenever I have some free time. This has really helped me stay focused and also I know that the lower number spread over a longer period of time will keep me from slacking off and just not doing it.

2. Forgetting to write stuff on my calendar: I'm getting better at remembering to write stuff down but I still forget. I won't tell you which it was but last month I participated in a tour which I had agreed to way back in February or something. The host forgot to send out a reminder until just an hour before it began. Thankfully due to a raging case of insomnia I received the e-mail and had it scheduled and up on time but yeah, that was pretty much what made me really try and become better about putting stuff on my calendar. I also now immediately schedule posts in advance if they don't require a review or anything extra like an interview or guest post in them. This has really helped me as well.

3. Updating my Facebook page: While I'm really good at interacting on Twitter, I feel I am definitely lacking when it comes from Facebook. I never really know what to talk about and then due to Facebook not showing posts to all fans I always worry about nobody responding back. I don't want a wall filled with me talking to myself you know?!? I want Facebook to be exciting for the fans who like and follow it. I am trying to become better at updating it throughout the day but I still feel this disconnect with my page. Hopefully I'll figure it out sooner or later.

Well there you have it. My top 3 worst blogging habits. If you have any tips or tricks on overcoming them please share! I can surely use them.

Now that you've read my confession, Tell me some of yours:
