There's no such thing as happy endings.

Savannah, Georgia is rumored to be the most haunted place in America. Quinn Roberts knows it is. She's felt the presence of spirits her entire life, investigating and photographing them with her best friend. Only none of those encounters ever turned violent, until now. The menacing darkness feeding off her stepmother has promised she won't live to see her eighteenth birthday.

After a chance meeting Quinn reluctantly allows actor Jason Preston into her life, which has complications of its own. She's not used to letting people get close. Falling for him while fighting for her life, and her family's legacy, only complicates things more. Jason shows her exactly what she stands to lose, especially when she's being attacked by the mysterious entity. Each attack is more violent and terrifying than the last.

With Jason's help, she dives into the Roberts' family history, searching for a link between a woman who went missing a hundred and fifty years ago and what's happening now. What they find is a brutal murder and that the ghost doesn't just want to hurt Quinn, it wants revenge.

It wants her life.

Review
Happily Never After was a book that I've had on my TBR quite awhile. I was intrigued by a Paranormal based Fairy Tale Retelling which is why I accepted it to review but was also hesitant to actually start it due to being unsure how the Author would pull the mash-up of genres off. Well fear not because Happily Never After was definitely worth it!

One of the things I really loved about Happily Never After was I could see the Fairy Tale through the modern day ghost story. All the elements I wanted (evil stepmother, handsome "prince" and the ball of course) in a Cinderella retelling were present but then the Author totally makes the story her own by adding in the Paranormal which shockingly I found to be the best part!

I also really loved Quinn. She suffers so much but keeps her head held high through it all. Quinn has a good heart and it hurt to see it being broken time and again by people who should've loved and cared for her.

Lastly, I LOVED the ending. It really took me by surprise even though I was so sure I had figured it all out. I honestly have no clue how the characters will recover from it but in all honesty that's what made it so good!

Overall, I highly recommend Happily Never After. If you like Romance,Action,Mystery and things that go bump in the night then this is definitely the book for you. With that being said, I'll be rating Happy Never After by Missy Fleming ★★★★.
