Waiting On Wednesday (72) Asylum 54.0 by Nadège Richards
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine.
For this weeks Waiting On Wednesday I chose Asylum 54.0 by Nadège Richards.
Expected Publication:
December 2013
THE WORLD DIED IN 3034.
Some say it was a mistake, while others say it was a purge.
As for me? Well, I say it was my damned liberation.
--
THEY CALL ME ARI.
Three years after being captured by The Scientists, I am no longer human. With the Y506-Virus destroying what’s left of Silo, no one truly is anymore. We now work for them, these things that control us. We are . . . one of them. We kill for them, warding off the living dead. In return, we get to keep some piece of our past.
But you see, not all of us are compliant; not all of us could be changed. We haven’t forgotten. I’m different, and so is Jonathus. There are much more like us. They took my mother and threatened the life of my sister, forcing me into a life of exile, and I’m hellbent on my revenge. Taking back Silo one asylum at a time is our end’s means. Joining The Underground is only the beginning . . .
MY NAME IS MATHAI PORTER.
THE INVASION STARTS NOW.

Why Am I Waiting?
I came across this book while browsing Goodreads. The cover is what stopped me but it was the sound of the story that sucked me in. It almost sounds like Falling Skies meets Walking Dead and you know what that's pretty awesome. I haven't read many books that combine Aliens and Zombies before. Of course I could be completely wrong but based on the blurb that's what it sounds like.

This cover reminds me of another series. Anyhow I really love the sound of it but I tend to enjoy these dystopians. Great pick :)

Huh wow this sounds pretty epic. If it's done right with some actual world building I would definitely love it. The cover reminds me of that other one.. Resist I think.

Sam @ Falling Books
Humm, it does sound like aliens and zombies! And that's very interesting indeed. I'll probably wait until I see what reviewers say before checking it out, but I think it has promise! Like your other commenters, I also thought immediately of the Breathe series by Sarah Crossan. Anyways, thanks for bringing this one to my attention!
