 This world is trying to kill Lily Proctor. Her life-threatening allergies keep her from enjoying many of the experiences that other teenagers take for granted...which is why she is determined to enjoy her first (and perhaps only) high-school party. But Lily's life never goes according to plan, and after a humiliating incident in front of half her graduating class Lily wishes she could just disappear.

 Suddenly Lily is in a different Salem - one overrun with horrifying creatures and ruled by powerful women called Crucibles. Strongest and cruellest of all the Crucibles is Lillian . . . Lily's identical other self in this alternate universe. This new version of her world is terrifyingly sensual, and Lily is soon overwhelmed by new experiences.

 Lily realizes that what makes her weak at home is exactly what makes her extraordinary in New Salem. It also puts her life in danger. Thrown into a world she doesn't understand, Lily is torn between responsibilities she can't hope to shoulder alone, and a love she never expected.

 But how can Lily be the saviour of this world when she is literally her own worst enemy?

Why Am I Waiting?
I came across this book on another blog a few days ago and was instantly hooked by its premise.  I love that it takes place in an alternate Salem one maybe even more terrifying than even the original ended up being for all those innocent people all those years ago.  Plus it has been quite awhile since I've read a really good Paranormal book featuring witches.

    I'm really excited for this book too. The Salem Witch Trials are so fascinating and I can't wait to see what the author has done with her source material.

    I just snagged myself a copy of this on NG the other day. I am really intrigued by the premise, and I loved the author's other series based on Greek mythology. I think the Salem witches might be the new "thing" this year because I just saw a similar synopsis for another book this morning.

      Ooo I didn't know it was up on Netgalley!! Thanks for the tip. Also I definitely think Witches and Salem as a location will be big. I've seen about 5 books so either coming up within the next few months or early next year with something to do with that period.

    Ooh, I am waiting on this one too! They had it on Netgalley yesterday as a "Read Now" but only for the first 100 people. Of course it got snatched up quick, and I didn't get there in time! >.<
