Top Ten Favorite Books of 2012!!

2013 is finally upon us and that means that it's time to reveal my Top Ten Favorite Books of 2012. Since the start of December I've been contemplating my list and while some books have been added or bumped I feel this final list does this past year of amazing reads justice.

I want to further explain that just because these are my favorites it does not deter whatsoever the other amazing books that I've read in 2012. From Young adult to Non-Fiction the literature put out this past year has exceeded my expectations and I can only hope 2013 proves to be the same or maybe dare I say it even better!!

Anyway I know your curious which books I've chosen. Without any further ado Let's get to it shall we?! In order from 10-1 here are my Top Ten Favorite Books of 2012:

10.) Plague by Lisa Hinsley Released: April 30, 2012
I loved this book. This story wasn't happy it is after all about a Plague but it was gripping and a realistic account of a Plague being unleashed upon the modern world.

9.)Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins Released: May 1,2012
I won this book from Goodreads back in (I believe) February or March and it wasn't until making this list that I realized I never reviewed it :( Great book though with strong lead characters and a well developed plot. Plus Kaidan was quite swoonworthy.

8.)Broken City by D.D. Chant Released: February 7,2011
I read this book back in July and it was so good. No monsters or mutants just people struggling to survive. Deeta remains one of the best female protagonists of the year with her openly honest character.

7.)The End Of The World as We Know It by Iva-Marie Palmer
I just finished with this book a week ago and (barring a sucky ending)mid-way through I knew this book would make my list of 2012 favorites. This book was just epically fun and literally every character was likable. I know this book will stick with me a good long while.

6.)The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda Released: May 8,2012
Not only is this one of my favorite covers of 2012 but obviously one of my favorite books as well. While the book did have some questionable character choices (armpit sex anyone?)the writing was creative and best of all these vampires rocked. Plus any character who can devoid themselves of human tendencies in order to survive is pretty badass in my book.

5.)Whispers In Autumn by Trisha Leigh Released: July 24,2012
Hands down one of the best books of 2012. Strong developed plot, with beautifully written narrative if you haven't read this book yet, you really, really should.

4.)Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi Released: October 2, 2012
This book was so incredibly good that I still can't believe it took me as long as it did to pick up and read. Move over Adam (the other male lead) I am firmly Team Warner!! I cannot wait to see where these characters are headed in the next book Unravel Me.

3.)Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein Released: February 6,2012
Haunting, poignant and beautifully written this book had me hanging by the end of my seat and holding my breath until the very last page. If you still haven't read this one yet you should.

2.)The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa Released: April 24,2012
I really had a hard time shelving this is the number 2 spot because the book was just that damn good. I loved the world, the characters and the cover (still sad about the change)and best of all the Vampires!! These vampires actually were something to be afraid of and I've said it once before and I'll say it again, Julie Kagawa restored my faith in the vampire genre after reading this book.

Which brings us to my #1 book of the year. Any of you who follow me regularly will probably have already guessed my choice as I've made it known quite vocally many times. Anyway for those of you still curious my choice for #1 Favorite Book of 2012 is.....*drumroll*........

1.)Grave Mercy by R.L. LaFevers Released: April 3,2012
Hands down, no doubt in my mind this was the best book of 2012. I loved everything about this book. Grave Mercy had the perfect blend of History, Romance, Intrigue, and of course Death. The detail put into this book might not be realized by the casual reader but was noticeable to someone like me and I must say it was appreciated. If you haven't read this book yet, stop reading, turn off your computer and go buy this NOW!!

I want to give shout outs to the books or series that just barely didn't make the list: The Angel Creek Series by Ada Adams, The As The World Dies Trilogy by Rhiannon Frater, The Goddess Test Series by Aimee Carter,Delirium Series by Lauren Oliver, The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe and The Yesterday's Gone serial by Sean Platt and David Wright these books just barely missed the list but were still awesome nonetheless.
