Trailer Tuesday (53)The Fault In Our Stars by John Green & The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen

Trailer Tuesday is a Weekly Blog Post hosted by me at Blood Sweat and Books. Each week I choose two Book Trailers to showcase. One Trailer will be for an upcoming book and the other will be one that has already been released.

This week I focus my spotlight on The Fault In Our Stars by John Green & The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen.

      Available Now:
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

Expected Publication: June 4, 2013!
The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
Luke is the perfect boyfriend: handsome, kind, fun. He and Emaline have been together all through high school in Colby, the beach town where they both grew up. But now, in the summer before college, Emaline wonders if perfect is good enough.

Enter Theo, a super-ambitious outsider, a New Yorker assisting on a documentary film about a reclusive local artist. Theo's sophisticated, exciting, and, best of all, he thinks Emaline is much too smart for Colby.

Emaline's mostly-absentee father, too, thinks Emaline should have a bigger life, and he's convinced that an Ivy League education is the only route to realizing her potential. Emaline is attracted to the bright future that Theo and her father promise. But she also clings to the deep roots of her loving mother, stepfather, and sisters. Can she ignore the pull of the happily familiar world of Colby?

Emaline wants the moon and more, but how can she balance where she comes from with where she's going?

Sarah Dessen's devoted fans will welcome this story of romance, yearning, and, finally, empowerment. It could only happen in the summer.

  1. I haven't gotten up the nerve to read Fault yet--I know I'll be a basketcase afterwards and haven't had the nerve! I love Dessen though and will totally be picking that one up!

    1. I haven't read TFIOS either. The book has such great reviews I feel like it will be just my luck that I'll be the one to hate it. Also it sounds super sad/depressing and I'm not sure my emotions can handle that.

  2. I LOVED TFiOS. I put it off and put it off, and then I finally listened to the audio, and OMG...the first half is pretty humorous and well, the second half had me bawling. But it's so worth it. It's the kind of book that you just can't stop thinking about. And my gawd, I have the biggest book crush on Augustus Waters. I'm afraid no John Green book can live up to how awesome TFiOS was, so I haven't tried any others. :(

And I am definitely reading The Moon and More. I've only read one other Sarah Dessen book, but I loved it and I like the sounds of this new one. :) Thanks for sharing the teaser!
