Waiting On Wednesday (66) Steve Newlin's Field Guide To Vampires by Michael McMillian and Gianna Sobol

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine.
For this weeks Waiting On Wednesday I chose Steve Newlin's Field Guide To Vampires
 by
Michael McMillian and Gianna Sobol.

Expected Publication:
November 1, 2013 by Chronicle Books

Not everybody likes the vampires, werewolves, faeries and other supernatural creatures that call Bon Temps, Louisiana home. The sweet-talking, bible-thumping, vamp-hating Steve Newlin leads the charge. In this hilarious scrapbook, Steve records all he knows about these 'Creatures of Satan.' Through kidnapping and torturing 'supes,' Steve has figured out a lot--their strengths, their weaknesses, their bylaws and, of course, how to kill them. Sadly, Steve's journal was stolen by Fangtasia vampires Pam and Eric who have defaced it in a most disrespectful (and snarky) manner. Recreated here for True Blood fans to savour, The Field Guide to Vampers is packed with untold insight into our favourite tv characters, along with cast photos, recreated letters, postcards, handwritten notes and Steve's own idle doodles in a scrapbook that perfectly captures the tongue-in-cheek camp that makes True Blood such a widely watched show.

Why Am I Waiting?
I'm a huge fan of the Steve Newlin character on True Blood. He's like the vampire version of Moral Orel it's awesome to watch. This book sounds like fun, cheese and snark rolled into the perfect little True Blood package.  I can totally picture characters Pam and Eric stealing this book and defacing it. If you can't tell I'm super excited for this one and I  seriously cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. I'm completely jealous of those who went to Comic-Con and had the chance to get signed copies by Michael himself. You are all lucky bastards lol.

  13. I'd only heard of this from those Comic Con posts, but it does sound like cheesy, snarky goodness. I'm not really a fan of True Blood, and I've only read the first Sookie book, but I'm not completely adverse to reading this, especially since it seems like it'll be poking fun at all the supernatural stuff. Fun pick this week! :)
