Book Trailer Tuesday is a Weekly Blog Post hosted by me at Blood Sweat and Books. Each week I choose two Book Trailers to showcase. This week on From Page to Screen I'll be tackling Under the Dome by Stephen King. First let's discuss the book.  Here is a bit of back story in case some of you aren't familiar with the novel. Under the Dome is a novel written by Author Stephen King. The book was originally published November 10, 2009 by Scribner. Under the Dome was inspired by an unfinished and unpublished King work called The Cannibals wherein an apartment complex is locked down and the residents end up resorting to cannibalism. Under the Dome released to mostly positive reviews with USA Today calling the novel "propulsively intriguing"and "staggeringly addictive". Let's take a look at some of the characters .   This week on From Page To Screen I'll be tackling the semi-controversial remake of Stephen King's Carrie. If you've followed my blog for awhile you'll remember me tacking the original Carrie in 2012 back when this was still called Book to Movie Monday.   It's time for another Mash-Up Monday. So what is Mash-Up Monday you ask?? Well Mash-Up Monday is when you take two books that really have nothing in common and Mash them up to create an entirely different book. Sounds simple enough right? This week I'll be Mashing up Under the Dome by Stephen King & Blackout by Robison Wells. Under The Dome is a book about a town that wakes up one day to notice they've been sealed in by a book dome covering the town. Things quickly spiral out of control as relationships are tested and supplies run out. Blackout is a book where teenagers have suddenly developed super powers. The Government gathers all affected Children up and places them in camps aka quarantine. Each book stands on it's own easily but....mash them together, taking the best bits out of both books, and you have the awesome and at times epic Gone by Michael Grant . This week on From Page To Screen I'll be tackling The Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King. First let's discuss the Book . Rita Hayword and The Shawshank redemption is a Novella written by Stephen King as part of his short story collection Different Seasons. The Novella was released August 27, 1982  by Viking Press.  The story is heavily based on 'God Sees the Truth, But Waits' by Leo Tolstoy. At the ending of the Different Season, there is a brief afterword written by Stephen King dated January 4, 1982. In it, he explains why he had not submitted the novellas for publication by themselves. He goes on to say that early in his career, his agents and editors expressed concern that he would be dismissed as someone who only wrote horror. However, due to his horror novels becoming quite popular they made him much in demand as a novelist. For this weeks From Page to Screen I have decided to cover The Mist by Stephen King. First let's discuss the book. The Mist is a novella written by Author Stephen King. The Novella was originally released in the Dark Forces Anthology (Published by Viking Books) and was the Collections longest story. In 1985 Stephen King published a slightly edited version of the novella in his short story novel Skeleton Crew (Published by Putnam Books). After the film rights were sold it was decided that King would rework the story yet again to make it a full length stand alone novel. This was published October 2, 2007 to coincide with the films release. Let's take a look at some of the characters. For this weeks Book to Movie Monday I have decided to cover the Book To Movie conversion of The Shining . First Let's Discuss The Book. Below Is The Cover: Now for a little back story in case some of you aren't familiar with the Novel. The Shining is a horror novel written by Stephen King. The Shining was published in January 1977 by Doubleday books. The Shining is the first Stephen King Novel not set in Maine. The Overlook Hotel in the book is based on The Stanley hotel where King vacationed with his family. The Stanley is also where King got the idea to write the novel.
