Zurvival Saturday (45) Zombie Swag

Image
I don't have to tell you how much I love the Zombies, my shelves are literally bursting at the seams with DVD's ,books and video games dedicated to the genre.  However, my love for Zombies doesn't end there. I have T-Shirts, soap, jewelry, Hello Kitty dolls all with a Zombie theme and like any obsessed fan I am always on the lookout for more stuff to add to my collection.  So for this weeks Zurvival Saturday I want to share some of the Zombie swag I've found in my wanderings through the interwho that I hope will grace my collection sooner or later. 1. How Everything Goes To Hell During A Zombie Apocalypse Poster.  I stumbled across this a couple of years ago but before I could buy it I  lost the link reinstalling Firefox. Thankfully I happened to find it on a list of items I wanted to buy myself for Christmas and plan to pick this baby up sometime soon.  Price: $20.00 from www.theoatmeal.com   2. Zombies In Wonderland T-Shirt I'm a...

*This post will contain spoilers and discussion regarding The Walking Dead. Please stop reading if you do not want to be spoiled. *Trumpets Blare, Noisemakers go off* The Walking Dead returns tomorrow woohoo!! For this week's Zurvival Saturday I'm going to talk about what else?!? The Walking Dead, of course!! Finally, after what seems like an epic long break The Walking Dead returns with the episode The Suicide King. The episode will air February 10, 2013 at 9/8c on AMC. The Suicide King- After the invasion of Woodbury by Rick's group, Daryl and Merle are captured by The Governor. Rick decides the fate of Tyreese's group. Ominous sounding isn't it?? I've been trying to wrap my head around the mid-season finale since seeing it, especially with Merle and Daryl captured but I'll save those thoughts for another day. I'll be doing episode recaps/thoughts later in the year once the season has finished. Check out the creepy Mid-Season premier poste...

For this week's Zurvival Saturday I wanted to share some relatively easy to find last minute Zombie Gift ideas for that special Zombie fan in your life! 1.)The Walking Dead: Compendium 1 & 2 . These are both something I'd love for Christmas and covers the first 96 Comics in the series. Great for someone just getting into the Comics or for a fan who might just want them bundled for easier reading. 2.) Resident Evil Retribution Dvd. This movie just came out yesterday and any fan of the series will be looking forward to adding to their collection. 3.) Every die hard Zombie fan would love the designs by Tracy Gurney. Instead of scrambling to find the perfect Zombie shirt why not buy a Gift Voucher to Tag Graphics and let the person pick out the size, color and style of choice. *Vouchers can be purchased in any increment online up to $1000.00 4.) Lock and Load Alarm clock for the fan paranoid of waking up to a zombie leering over them. This bad boy can be found at Ca...

For this week's Zurvival Saturday I will be reviewing The Walking Dead Volume 1 by Robert Kirkman A few week's back I did a comparison of The Walking Dead comics vs TV ( Click Here to Read ) and it was only while looking for something I wrote in that post that I realized that I hadn't actually reviewed this yet. So here it is my review of The Walking Dead Vol.1 Days Gone Bye. Robert Kirkman Image Comics Publication Date: September 26,2006 The Walking Dead An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife ...

Book To Movie Monday (22)

Image
For this weeks Book to Movie Monday I have decided to cover The Walking Dead: Days Gone By. Now I know, I know it's a TV show not a movie but I've wanted to do a comparison for awhile now and rather than make a whole new meme I'm shelving it here. First Let's Discuss The Book. Below Is The Cover: Now for a little back story in case some of you aren't familiar with the Novel. The Walking Dead began as a comic series created by Robert Kirkman. The comics were first released in 2003 by Image comics. The Walking Dead: Days Gone By Vol. 1 was released in May 2004 and contains the first 6 issues in the series. Let's look at some of the characters now shall we. Main Protagonist Rick Grimes- A small town deputy from Kansas. He is husband to Lori Grimes and Father to Carl Grimes. In the first episode/comic he is shot and sent into a coma. Upon waking Rick discovers that his hospital has been abandoned as well as his town and the dead for reasons unknown ha...

Tomorrow, yes tomorrow The Walking Dead returns to AMC *woohoo!!!* and so starting today at 10am ET AMC will be running a marathon to get all the fans or those just checking out the series caught up. I cannot express to you how amazingly excited for tomorrow I am. Next week I will be talking about the Season premiere so make sure to come back and check that out. For this week's Zurvival Saturday I will be watching the awesome Walking Dead Marathon on AMC!! Before I get to that though I want to share my TOP Favorite non dialogue scenes from both Seasons of The Walking Dead. This is Part 1 since I have way to many to fit in just one post. In no particular order they are: 1.) Rick Spots a child walking amongst the cars in the first episode. That moment when we see the child pick up the bunny before being revealed as a Zombie is one of those moments that takes you by surprise because you want to believe the little child is OK but the rational part of you knows this is going ...

Waiting On Wednesday (29)

Image
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine . For this week's Waiting On Wednesday I chose *drumroll* The Walking Dead: The Road To Woodbury by Robert Kirkman and Jay Boninsinga Expected Publication:October 16,2012 The zombie plague unleashes its horrors on the suburbs of Atlanta without warning, pitting the living against the dead. Caught in the mass exodus, Lilly Caul struggles to survive in a series of ragtag encampments and improvised shelters. But the Walkers are multiplying. Dogged by their feral hunger for flesh and crippled by fear, Lilly relies on the protection of good Samaritans by seeking refuge in a walled-in town once known as Woodbury, Georgia. At first, Woodbury seems like a perfect sanctuary. Squatters barter services for food, people have roofs over their heads, and the barricade expands, growing stronger every day. Best of all, a mysterious self-proclaimed leader named Philip Blake keeps the citizens in line. But Lilly begins to...

After The Show Ends

Image
Earlier today I was sifting through Amazon as I sometimes do when bored. I came across a Buffy Book I hadn't yet read and it made me think about what other series I followed into book form after the credits roll and the show ends. These are just a few of my favorite shows that I also enjoy reading about as well. In no particular order they are: 1. Buffy The Vampire Slayer The Books are based off the show. They are written by Various Authors and can take place within the show time frame, years before the show or even after. The Books are a great way to stay in touch with the characters I love. As long as they keep pumping them out I will stay reading them. 2. True Blood The Show is based Off the wildly popular Southern Vampire Mysteries Series by Charlaine Harris. I started reading the books after falling in love with True Blood after its First Season Ended. Only two books remain in the series but I hope the show continues on much longer than that. 3. Bones The Show is base...

For this Week I am going to share with you my Top 10 Season 2 Walking Dead Moments. Let me just say I loved this season! I know a bunch of critics hated the pacing in the first half but I enjoyed it. Realistically if a Zombie Apocalypse happened life still needs to go on which means laundry, planting crops, fighting, making up and a whole bunch of shagging. So while they might have been disappointed with the lack of non stop zombie action, I praise the writers for seeing the bigger picture. So without further Ado and in no particular order, Here are my Top 10. So if you haven't seen Season 2 yet and don't want to be spoiled, STOP NOW. 1.) Shane Kills Otis - I loved this scene and honestly think anyone in Shane's situation would do the same. While it was a cruel fate for Otis, his death helped two people survive. Let us at least hope he died quickly. 2.) Dale's Death - I was so heartbroken over this. I didn't see it coming at all. Dale was the moral glue that h...
