From Goodreads:

It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

First off lets get the technicalities out of the way. I Bought this Book with my own money. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for them.

That being said here is my review:

The story is about a girl named Kate and her mother who is dying from Cancer. Kate’s mother wants to go back to her hometown where she was born and raised to die. Kate has spent the majority of the past four years shuffling her mother to appointments and being by her side as the Doctors told her yet another round of Chemotherapy failed, She doesn’t have a life outside of home and school and even missed her Senior year just so she could spend more time looking after her mother. Settled in to her new town and life, Kate begrudgingly accepts an Invite to a welcoming party from the most popular girl in school Ava. When Kate ends up falling victim to a vicious prank she meets Henry and this is where the book really starts to pick up pace. Henry offers Kate a deal. In exchange for keeping her mother alive, she must stay with him for 6 months, pass seven test and if she succeeds she will become his wife. Story sound familiar? Well it should because Henry is really Hades and he's looking for a new wife to help him rule the underworld and he has his eyes set on Kate. Can Kate pass the tests? Will she and Henry fall in love? What will happen if she fails like so many others before her? Well your just going to have to pick up a copy and find out for yourself.

I initially bought this book back in late September early October. I cannot really say why I didn't read it, maybe just because I had so many needing read through (after receiving my Ipad I went a wee E-book buying crazy) that it just wasn't a high priority. I am so, so glad I finally took the time to read it. I wasn't even going to review it but I loved it that much, that I knew I couldn't not give one.

I love Greek Mythology and that is what initially drew me to this book. It was such a refreshing change of pace from the Vampires, Werewolves etc that have been dominating the YA book scene. I also enjoyed the Characters in this book not only Kate but all the supporting characters as well. I wanted to learn more about them and I of course was hoping to see Mount Olympus but sadly that was not to be, maybe in the next book.

Overall I loved this book. The Writing and Character development was perfect. What a great debut from the Author Aimee Carter. Would I recommend this book? Yes!! I will be giving this Book 5 ★★★★★.
