Zurvival Saturday (24)

Image
For this weeks Zurvival Saturday I wanted to talk about getting sick during a Zombie Apocalypse. Getting sick under the best of circumstances is hard enough but what happens when the undead are numerous and stock piles have dwindled? In the event an Apocalypse of Zombie proportions happens the essentials will be the first things stripped from grocery stores and Hospitals and it's not always going to be easy to make supply runs to those destinations once pickings start to slim. The items I am going to share should be in plenty of pantries and quite easy to scavenge. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar- Ah how I love ACV it has so many uses, stores an incredibly long time and best of all it is dirt cheap for a big bottle. For colds mix around a tablespoon with hot water and drink up. If your lucky enough to have some honey or lemon available mix that in for extra benefit and taste!! 2. Garlic- Look for Garlic pills first but if you can't find them either cloves or chopped works fine.

Waiting On Wednesday (24)

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine . For this week's Waiting On Wednesday I chose *drumroll* Incarnation by Emma Cornwall. Expected Publication:September 18,2012 In the steampunk world of Victorian London, a beautiful vampire seeks out the author of Dracula–to set the record straight . . . If one is to believe Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale, Lucy Weston is Dracula’s most wanton creation, a sexual creature of the night who preys on innocent boys. But the real-life Lucy is nothing like her fictional counterpart—and she demands to know why the Victorian author deliberately lied. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she’s determined to track down the very fiend who transformed her—from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires, to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness, and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme. Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy must battle her t

Jamie Asks: What was the most emotional read you have ever had? Through the years I've read many books, some that have even made me cry but the only book I can recall sobbing to is Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. Dumbledores death was a huge shock and I remember being gutted when it happened. "Albus Dumbledore was never proud or vain; he could find something to value in anyone, however apparently insignificant or wretched, and I believe that his early losses endowed him with great humanity and sympathy. I shall miss his friendship more than I can say, but my loss is as nothing compared to the wizarding world's. That he was the most inspiring and the best loved of all Hogwarts headmasters cannot be in question." —Elphias Doge in Dumbledore's obituary. As for non Harry Potter books that have made me cry and have stuck with me because of that they would be: The Velveteen Rabbit The Road Zoya The Devil's Arithmetic Sure I've c
