Zurvival Saturday (122) Zombies used in Political Advertisements

Image
I was watching campaign ads on TV this morning and it got me thinking what if Zombies put out campaign videos. What would they be like? Would they be entertaining or just creepy? So down the Google rabbit hole I went hoping to find some. Unfortunately, While I didn't find any with mock Zombie presidential candidates, I did find some fun videos showing Zombies used for Political purposes. Up first is a political advertisement from 2013 where a political action committee comprised of Zombies "attacks" San Diego Mayoral candidate Nathan Fletcher. Next is an ad from 2010 where Republican John Dennis uses the undead to attack his opponent Nancy Pelosi. Dennis lost to Pelosi in the end but the commercial is pretty horrific nonetheless. Lastly, Here's an ad from 2012 where Joss Whedon tells you that voting for anyone other than Obama will lead to the Zombie Apocalypse. -------------------------------------------------------------- Out of curiosity, Have

Waiting On Wednesday (134) The Anthrax Protocol by James Thompson

Image
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine where readers share which books they are highly anticipating. This week I want to share The Anthrax Protocol by James Thompson. Why I'm Waiting :   I don't share them often on here but I am a huge fan of books, films, documentaries etc... that deal with biological catastrophes.  These type of stories intrigue yet terrify me. I guess that's just what makes them so good to read though! Anyway, I knew when I read the premise for The Anthrax Protocol that this was one I'd have to read and I look for ward to getting my hands on a copy soon.  Expected Publication: February 23, 2016 from Pinnacle Books In an excavation site in Mexico, a team of archeologists uncovers the lost tomb of Montezuma--and a deadly strain of anthrax as ancient as the Biblical plagues. One by one, the team falls violently ill, bleeding from their eyes and ears before succumbing to a slow, painful death. Whatever was

Movie Review: Evil Dead (2013)

Image
IMDb Director: Fede Alvarez Genre: Action, Horror Distributor: TriStar Pictures Run Time: 91 Minutes Rated: R Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. Movie Review OK, so here's the deal, I wasn't originally going to review this film. I, like most fans of the horror genre understand that the only Evil Dead that actually means something is the one starring Bruce Campbell. Any reboots, remakes, sequels, prequels or fan fiction are too be taken with a grain of salt. However, upon finishing the film I was left actually wondering if maybe, just maybe the director knew what he was doing by remaking this movie as he did. Evil Dead isn't a direct copy of The Evil Dead although it should be noted that it obviously borrows heavily from the ori
