But a shocking confession from her dying father will push her toughness to its absolute limits. Saddled with an impossible secret and the mission of saving her little sister, Fi sets out to transform herself into the warrior that she must become to survive the coming collapse. Along the way, she will discover that evil can be accidental and that love can be intentional.

I received this book for review from the Author. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for them.

Review:

Eden's Root Chronicles the lives of Fi Kelley and her friends as they struggle living in a world with a serious food crisis.

The Good

The Plot- I really liked the concept of this book, it was plausible and therefore that made it scary to see how society would react in this situation. I also enjoyed how the love triangle unfolded, it wasn't traditional and I liked that.

The Characters- From Fi to Asher *swoon* and the many characters in between I liked them all for the most part. I also really enjoyed reading about the antics between the main characters as well. I thought they served as nice little breaks between the downer of the food crisis.

Fi- She's strong and brave and someone I would definitely want by my side in an end of the world type scenario.

The Cover- Yes I know, you can't judge a book by it's cover but seriously it's gorgeous. The cover was actually what made me stop and read the book description in the first place and yes it looks that pretty on the physical copy as well!

The Bad

The Pacing- The first part of the book does tend to drag on. Usually I like descriptive scenes but literally every part of in the first half of the book was described in great detail unnecessarily, it definitely made it a bit tough to read through.

Final Thoughts

While I did enjoy this book, I was definitely left a bit flustered and frustrated by the end, course that doesn't detract me from wanting to read the next in the series at all. I certainly commend the Author for creating such a realistic end of the world type plot. I expected it to be more Sci-fi but was greatly pleased to see it was more grounded in real world science.

Overall if you have some time, pick this book up and give it a go. I look forward to reading more from the Author and can't wait to see what happens in the next book Seeds Of War. I will be rating Eden's Root by Rachel Fisher★★★★.
