Waiting On Wednesday (104) Talon by Julie Kagawa
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by Breaking The Spine where readers showcase which books they are highly anticipating. This week I'm turning my spotlight on Talon by Julie Kagawa.
Expected Publication:
October 28, 2014 from Harlequin Teen
Long ago, dragons were hunted to near extinction by the Order of St. George, a legendary society of dragon slayers. Hiding in human form and growing their numbers in secret, the dragons of Talon have become strong and cunning, and they're positioned to take over the world with humans none the wiser.
Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.
Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

Why Am I Waiting?
Honestly, when I first heard of Talon I tried very hard not to be excited by it. After coming off the lackluster finale to The Immortal Rules series I wasn't quite ready to wrap my head (at the time) around the idea of another series being released. Now that I've had a few months to ponder things though, I can't help but be excited. Dragons, Secret Societies, Action, Adventure, this book sounds like it has it all and then some. Plus look at that cover,so pretty, it needs to be on my shelf!!

Nemo @ Blame it on the Book
This is definitely one that I've had my eye on. Not only is the cover awesome but it sounds like a very entertaining read. Only like 2 months and some change until it comes out.
ReplyDeleteI haven't exactly been awed by Kagawa in the past, but who am I kidding, this is about dragons, so I have to read it.
ReplyDeleteMy WOW.
THAR BE DRAGONS! :) I'm excited about this one, but I haven't been hearing the best things. I'm hoping it's more on par with her Immortal Rules books and less like The Iron Fey series.
