Books To Movies Giveaway hop!!
Welcome to my stop on the Books To Movies Giveaway Hop
hosted by Mary from Bookhounds & I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
If you didn't know by now I'm a huge fan of Books turned movies. I read as if I'm watching a movie as it is and so whenever I see a book turned into a film I get super excited. While I have many favorites I've decided to limit my choices to my Top 5. Trust me I can talk about Book to Movie adaptations all day if you'll let me :) From this list you can choose either the book or film as your prize! In no particular order here are my favorite books turned into films!
.The Lord Of The Rings is a series that can only be described as epic. I love the books and suggest everyone read the series at least once. When Peter Jackson turned the trilogy into a film and I heard of some of the changes I was skeptical. Fortunately as soon as I saw the first film all doubts were erased from my mind. I just can't get enough and have rewatched the series in full dozens of times since release.
When it comes to movie adaptations The Perks of being a Wallflower is one of the best. I love Emma Watson in this film and personally feel all the characters did the book justice.
Fight Club is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time. While I enjoyed the book this is a case where I think the Director actually improved upon it. I just cannot get over how amazing Brad Pitt is in the role of Tyler Durden he nails the role perfectly.
Battle Royale is one of my all time favorite books. In fact this book is probably why The Hunger Games is disappointing for me. Now I know some people feel the film strayed to far from the source material but personally I dug it. I loved that it didn't lighten the tone of the book to make it more promotable. Let's face it kids killing kids is dark material and sometimes hard to swallow no matter the context.
Audition is one of my favorite horror movies and it wasn't until many years later that I had the pleasure of reading the book in English. The book was bloody, scary and is a must read for any Horror fan. However, I think the movie version still remains my favorite simply because the actress Eihi Shiina really sells the crazy. Her character is like Professor Umbridge and Dolores Claiborne combined and no I'm not kidding.
Now I know I said these were my Top 5 but I can't in good faith leave Harry Potter off my list so if you'd like to win either a book or film in that series you can as well. Now onto the Giveaway!!

I'm a die hard Hunger Games fan, and while the first movie was good not great, I'm super stoked for Catching Fire. I think it's going to be miles better than the first. ReplyDeleteI loved the movie adaptation of Lord of the Rings. These films were incredibly beautiful and I actually thought better than the books, primarily because the portions of the book that were drier to me and at times made it difficult to continue the book were not in the film.
