This week I want to look back at a book that I reviewed a few years ago called Ninja Versus Pirate Featuring Zombie by James Marshall (You can read that review by clicking Here). Ninja Versus Pirate was one of the first books I ever read through Netgalley. At the time, I had high hopes for the story. Sure the title should have given me some sort of clue to the mess within but call me optimistic... I really thought this would be a quirky fun read.  Sadly, even after all these years and 1 failed reread I am still not really sure what the point of the story was. Now you're probably thinking "Well you're still talking about it. So that's good right?" . Eh, maybe. This week I want to look back at Read Along Adventures aka AudioBooks for kids. Audio Books today are of course delivered electronically (mostly) and can be listened to from practicually any device that has speakers (laptops, E-Readers, Cell Phones etc...) but remember when you needed a tape recorder or record player to listen to them?? Enter, Read Along Adventures. One of my favorite things about growing up in the 80's was listening to books on tape. I would carry my little record player with me everywhere and pretend to read the books I was listening too. Some of the coolest stories came from Movies and if a movie was popular enough you'd bet your bottom dollar a Read-Along Adventure was shortly to follow. This week I wanted to throw back to one of my favorite book series growing up The Baby-Sitters Club. If you were a child of the 80's or early 90's like I was, The Baby-Sitters club is something you have probably read or at the very least watched on TV. For those of you whom haven't heard of this series here's some brief info on it: The Baby-Sitters Club was released in 1986. The series was written by Author Ann M. Martin and published by Scholastic. It's been said that the books were heavily inspired by a popular babysitting series from the 60's Ginny’s Baby-Sitting Business.  The first book in The Baby-Sitters Club was titled Kristy's Great Idea and sets up the entire premise for the series, which is of course about a group of friends who form a Babysitting cooperative in their neighborhood. For awhile now I've wanted to do a Throwback Thursday type of post where I share things that I enjoyed but aren't maybe as popular now as they might once have been.  However, I could never really decide what sort of content I wanted it to cover. Did I just stick to books or would I talk about tech and movies as well? In the end I decided it didn't need to fit into some pre-designed mold, I'd just cover anything I felt was interesting enough to post about. The only rule is that whatever the content, it must be at least 1 year or older before being shared. Anything sooner and it feels too fresh for me. This will be a work in process as I get a feel for how I want to share things so please bear with me. Also I still need a post image as I haven't figured out a design yet.
