17-year-old Banyan is a tree builder. Using salvaged scrap metal, he creates forests for rich patrons who seek a reprieve from the desolate landscape. Although Banyan's never seen a real tree--they were destroyed more than a century ago-his missing father used to tell him stories about the Old World.
Everything changes when Banyan meets a mysterious woman with a strange tattoo-a map to the last living trees on earth, and he sets off across a wasteland from which few return. Those who make it past the pirates and poachers can't escape the locusts . . . the locusts that now feed on human flesh.
But Banyan isn't the only one looking for the trees, and he's running out of time. Unsure of whom to trust, he's forced to make an alliance with Alpha, a beautiful, dangerous pirate with an agenda of her own. As they race towards a promised land that might be a myth, Banyan makes shocking discoveries about his family, his past, and how far people will go to bring back the trees.
Why Am I Waiting?
Seriously?!? Did you not read that description?? This book just oozes read me lol. I'm not sure if this is the final cover or not but I like it. Plus I wonder what type of creature the locusts are zombie, vampire, cannibal, alien, or like a mutated actual locust. So many awesome possibilities. I heard this book might be given out at BEA so you know..... (hint, hint *cough*) LOL!!
That wraps up my Waiting on Wednesday, leave me the link to yours so I can check it out as well! Have you heard of this book before? What type of creatures do you think the locusts are? Let me Know In The Comments Below! I love reading your responses.
Whoa! I haven't heard of this one, but those locusts sound insane...definitely sound like some zombie-locusts to me. Not sure if I like the cover...the guy on it actually looks like a zombie himself. :P
ReplyDeleteHere’s my WoW post! Happy Wednesday! :D
I only heard about this book around a month ago, it didn't even have a cover when I first read a blurb about it. On the Author's FB he mentioned about a cover so don't know if this is it or another is coming.
DeleteWoot! Great pick Kristin! It had me at 'tree builder'. Lol! It seems awesome... I don't know if I'll be able to wait till November though. -.- That's when my WoW is coming out too, and I'm so excited! Also, the cover. Instant love. I could stare at it all day long. Seriously. It's so freaking cool! And for that alone (even thought I know they say never judge a book by its cover, blah blah, blah) it's on the top of my TBR list. Thanks for stopping by my WoW hun <3
