From Page to Screen (82) The Girl on the Train, Fallen, Inferno & more!!

2016 has been a remarkable year for Book to film conversions thus far and that momentum does not seem to be slowing down at all. So far this year we've seen film adaptations of books ranging anywhere from the cult classic Pride, Prejudice and Zombies to best selling novels The 5th Wave  , Allegiant and the lesser known but still brilliant   13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi   . Hollywood it seems has been bit by the book bug and I for one cannot wait to see what works get converted in the future (Please, please Joe McKenna's Dead City). For now though let's stick with the films being released in the back half of the year. I'm choosing to exclude Fantastic Beasts because I've mentioned it already in a previous post. With that being said and in no particular order here are some of my most anticipated still yet to be released. 1.) The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins  Film Release Date: October 5, 2016 Director: Ta...

Waiting On Wednesday (136) The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry

Image
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly blog post hosted by  Breaking The Spine  where readers share which books they are highly anticipating. This week I want to share The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry. Why I'm Waiting :   This book sounds amazing. I just love Historical Fiction stories set during the time of the Inquisition. Is that morbid? Probably. However, it is a very underutilized time period and so fascinating. For some reason this story reminds me of Grave Mercy (not the concept the wording of the synopsis) and that alone makes my body hum with excitement. I did so love that series. Anyway, enough rambling. I can't wait for this one and am so glad it is almost time for it to be released! Expected Publication: April 12, 2016 from Viking Books I must write this account, and when I have finished, I will burn it. Buried deep within the archives of a convent in medieval France is an untold story of love, loss, and wonder and the two girls at the heart o...
